Mee Wah in Vancouver Island

I got mah po tofu and mushroom foo yung for pick up. It was so bad that I hesitated to write a bad review, and instead took it back to give them a chance to do something about it or defend themselves. Maybe the chef was having a seizure or something. They were already closed (5 minutes before the posted closing time, I guess they didn't have any outstanding orders), so I'm stuck with it.We used to get take-out from here fairly regularly, and I thought they were good. On the forbidden list now.

Most terrible food which after 30 minute wait was cold and for $12.50 special chop suet had 2 prawns and two slices of bbq pork AND cold celery, carrot filler. Never again.

This place is always pretty quiet, I think most their service is take-out or delivery. The staff are super friendly, and the food is good.

Deep fried prawns have the best batter I've had...so light and crispy and not greasy! We've really enjoyed the food we've ordered the last couple times from Mee Wah...very consistent! Will definitely order from them again!

I cannot tell you the constant horrible customer service. As an Oak Bay resident, I always want to support local businesses. They are constantly out of half their menu and their horrible customer service was a breaking point. Switched to Dragon Gate and have been very pleased. This place does not deserve business and will close. Customer service matters.

Went for lunch with a friend. We sat ourselves,waited 10 min before she took our order and got up to pay. I didn't feel the need to tip as she looked pretty miserable having to serve us to begin with. She actually asked me why no tip? Ummm,really...you barely did anything at all. The $14 i paid for my meal should suffice. I tip when i get exceptional service,not the bare minimum of the job you are supposed to be doing. That's what your boss pays you for.

I verified my allergies 3 times yet they still prepared food with them in it. The server went to consult the cook, they had a conversation while looking at me and laughed. They were more interested in taking my money than giving me a good experience and food I can eat. In hindsight don't waste your time with this place.

So a few weeks ago we ate here and everything was great. Then on July 8,2017 we returned only to end up walking out after a 40 minute wait. First of all our server could not speak or understand english but kept shaking her head as if she understood. Our first order was simple corn and chicken egg drop soup which another server said the chef could make but after a long wait she brought back a bowl filled with peas and eggs. It was then we decided it was best to leave and we will never return. What a joke. To the owner.. Get someone who can speak english.

Fantastic experience. Not entirely "Authentic" but certainly the quality of food was very good.

The hours said 12pm to 9pm but when I went at 2pm they were closed. My family was starving and we were ready to drop a pretty buck but when we went to the door the man and the woman inside just stared at us; They didn't smile, they didn't answer the door to give an explanation, they just stared at us and then walked away so we couldn't see them anymore. I will not be returning, too rude for me!

Chinese food on the outskirts of Oak Bay!! Its yummy and at a good price. The only thing i didn't like was the fortune in my fortune cookie. It was completely inaccurate. I did not meet the love of my life on my way home from work as was stated on the fortune cookie. Also the suggested lottery numbers were not at all even close to the winning numbers. So I'm a little upset about losing the purchase price of the lottery ticket.Food = GoodFortune cookie = Not good / It lied to me!!

I considered going to Dragon Gate as it has better reviews but I decided to look here as I wanted to see if they offered better combos. They do. They have two combos with almond chicken and chow mein. I chose the deluxe with prawn chop suey and I was pleased. The chow mein could have used a bit more soy sauce in the wok but overall it was ok.

omg, that's the worst restaurant experience in my life. As I am a Chinese, I just wanna say that the food is just horrible. I paid $20 for fish, but they just gave to me three pieces, and it's the FORZEN FISH! And one of the server never gave us water or tea, and the rice is cold, so it is definitely from last night. Again, i am really disappointed. NEVER GO TO THIS PLACE IN MY LIFE.

This restaurant is the hell. If you want to go to this place, please rather than just go to KFC or MacDonald. Service is really bad, I asked ice water for three times and they still did not give to me. Vegetables is not fresh at all, and i see some black spots on the dish. I am just scary for going to this restaurant again.

The Staff are super friendly and the food is fantastic, I totally recommend this quaint little restaurant

The food was tasteless.

No one in dining room at6pm Waited half hour before getting service busy with several takeout/ pick ups . Then I ordered no1 for one food was very salty and two dishes one beef and one chicken tasted same and hardly any chicken some of the sweet and sour lean pork were touch and chewy . I came home with an unsettled stomach and promptly vomited and had to use the toilet . Never again. I had take on and delivery once six month ago and it was good

The food was very salty and the ginger beef and lemon chicken were horrible. We will never order from them again

We ordered the foo young and wontons and they were so so awful. The foo young had zero taste to it and had the texture of stringy rubber. The wontons were spongy and tasted like plastic.

Service was impressively awful, one of my order items was forgotten, and ultimately entirely incorrect (interpreted salt and pepper squid (盐和胡椒鱿鱼) as literally fried squid with salt and pepper, not hot peppers). The chow mein was alright, the foo yung was flavorless and dry, and the soup was not soup (not sure if the correct item was even delivered).I'm pretty sure the waitress did not speak any English, which made communication impossible, no compensation was made regarding these errors.Place has gone down hill, the positive reviews are from years ago when the place was much better.

Your portions are small for home delivery and your driver does not carry silver only The bills for change he assumes he gets to keep the change not OK with that will not order from there again

Just completed dinner. Mee Wah has renovated and the new chef is great. Been here many times but this time was so good. Every order from soup to squid was excellent...better than so many others in Victoria. Service was exceptional. Will be back.

Easily the most high quality Chinese food in Victoria.

Called in a pick-up order, 15-20 mins, I arrived within the time and it was ready to go. When I got home (<1km) it was barely warm and we ended up reheating it up in the microwave.In the end, it was pretty bland and boring. Not worth it...

Delicious food, and friendly service. Not a fancy place, but the few times I've been there, definitely consistent. Good specials. New chef, I understand, but I didn't know it before.

Great service and food at reasonable prices

Terrible service, can never get a glass of water, had to get it myself. The food is borderline. Waitress always looks grumpy. Cheap food but you get what you pay for. I used to go there when I wanted a quick cheap meal. The waitress once asked me why I never leave a tip and I answered that I will leave a tip the day that I get decent service. I haven't gone back since then.
